A Really Big Dill

The Pickle Posse® is made up of the infamous Pickle Queens®, their right-hand men the Pickle Protectors®, the 501(c)4 board of directors of the Pickled Mansfield Society®, our 6-foot dancing mascot the Pickle Dude® and hundreds of local volunteers who make the World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade & Palooza® happen every spring. Want to join the fun? Find out how to volunteer by emailing

The Pickle Protectors® are the Pickle Queens'® right-hand men, doing everything from selling merchandise to helping the Queens get on the float. At the Pickle Parade®, you'll see them - they're the men in black!

In 1924, Mildred Dalton began selling pastries and pies in Mansfield, Texas, soon moving on to mayonnaise, sandwich spread and pickle relish. In 2012, the World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade & Palooza® is born in Mansfield, drawing thousands to celebrate the briny goodness. In honor of the city's proud pickle history, the Texas State Legislature voted Mansfield as the Pickle Capital of Texas in 2013 and voted to renew the honor for another 10 years in 2023.

The Pickle Dude® first appeared at the 2013 World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade & Palooza®. Since then, this 6-foot-tall dancing gherkin and his signature yellow Converse high-top tennis shoes have danced, zip-lined and posed for thousands of photographs to promote his favorite festival and his hometown of Mansfield, the Pickle Capital of Texas®.

There will be no cornhole or other events on Friday night this year.

What happens when you turn 40 and realize you're old enough to know better, but still young enough to get away with it? You gather your girlfriends and have a parade! Pickle Queens® are the last to leave the party and the first to arrive. We have an opinion, know how to stand alone, but understand the power of an entourage. We appreciate men, love our kids, believe in our community and have to the confidence to laugh at ourselves at the end of the day.

The Pickle Posse® helps build houses for Habitat for Humanity, pack bags for Feed the Kids for Summer, donates to the animal shelter, funds two scholarships for graduating Mansfield ISD seniors and rings bells for the Salvation Army. In the past 10 years, the Pickle Posse® has also donated more than $35,000 to charities in Mansfield.

The World's Only St. Paddy's Pickle Parade® showcases live music and entertainment for all tastes. Musical acts have ranged from Grammy winners to local bands, and there's fun beyond the Main Stage. On Saturday, March 16, the Community Stage will feature local amateur and professional performers, while Run 4 Cover takes over the Main Stage to start the day, more live music comes on after the Pickle Parade.
